Meet the Creators

Our Story
In late October 2019, on a rainy afternoon in Boston, Massachusetts, two aspiring writers unknowingly crossed paths at an Emerson College campus tour, setting the foundation for a friendship that would span years.
The day was marked by the rhythmic pounding of jackhammers from a nearby construction site, a constant backdrop to the city’s bustling energy.

Among the many prospective students gathering near Boston Common, one individual found themselves immersed in a sea of aspiring media professionals, each discussing journalism, communications, and broadcasting—fields that, while prestigious, did not align with their own ambition of creative writing.
Accompanied by their mother, the prospective student—Bair—entered the designated meeting space, where attendees were directed to sit facing a projector screen for an introductory session. As others trickled in, light conversations emerged, primarily revolving around academic aspirations and career interests. While these exchanges were informative, they highlighted the fact that few others shared a passion for storytelling and fiction writing.
Seated nearby, a woman with graying hair engaged in animated discussion with Bair’s mother, a natural conversationalist. Beside her sat a young woman of similar age, deeply engrossed in scribbling in a journal, seemingly unaware of the conversations unfolding around her. Noticing a Marvel Comics backpack at her feet, Bair offered a casual compliment, initiating what would become a pivotal interaction.
At the mention of her backpack, the young woman—Kimberly—immediately perked up, grinning. When asked about her intended major, she responded enthusiastically: “Creative writing.” The mutual interest provided an instant sense of relief, as up until that point, no other attendee had expressed an intention to pursue the field. What began as a simple exchange quickly developed into an animated discussion, with the two soon immersed in planning hypothetical dorm room mascots, flags, and the various creative pursuits they would embark on as future roommates.
Throughout the tour, the two remained inseparable, their shared excitement for writing fostering a natural connection. By the end of the event, they had exchanged Instagram handles, unknowingly setting the stage for a friendship that would extend far beyond the walls of Emerson College.
As the months passed, communication between the two continued, primarily through Instagram messages and FaceTime calls as Kimberly lived in Virginia and Bair lived back in Boston. However, it was during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, when the world slowed to a halt, that their friendship deepened. With limited opportunities for external activities, they turned to writing sessions, late-night conversations, and creative brainstorming.
At some point during the year, an idea emerged: Why not start a podcast?
And so, The Two Tired Writers Podcast was created—an informal yet dedicated platform where they could discuss writing, storytelling, and their experiences as young creatives. Over the years, the podcast evolved, undergoing aesthetic changes and rebranding, eventually simplifying its name to The Tired Writers Podcast.

Unfortunately, while neither attended Emerson College and never became roommates, they've still gone on many adventures and created chaos wherever they go.
What began as a chance meeting on a rainy day in Boston had grown into a lasting creative partnership and an enduring friendship, proving that some of the most significant connections form in the most unexpected places.
